Antonín Kučera

Member of the Scientific council of Computer Science

“You can't tell how deep a puddle is until you step into it.”

Professor Kučera is Head of the Institute for Theoretical Computer Science, Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University in Brno. Since 2012, he has served as Vice President of the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science. He is on the editorial board of the journals Theoretical Computer Science and Acta Informatica. From 2011 to 2013, he was Chair of the board for the Presburger Award for young scientists.

His research centers around the algorithmic theory of stochastic processes and games, system analysis with infinitely many states, and game theory applications in computer security and artificial intelligence. He has authored approx. 100 papers on computer science. In 2016 he received the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award from the Humboldt Foundation.

Since January 2017, he has been a member of the Neuron Science Board for Computer Science, the latest field supported by Neuron.
