For literacy research

Anežka Kuzmičová is a pioneer of a discipline that represents a new approach to literacy research in children and adults. A graduate of the Charles University and Stockholm University, she now works at the Institute of Czech Language and Communication Theory at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. Anežka Kuzmičová’s work is based on the assumption that reading skills and experiences represent a layered interplay of linguistic, technological, physical, personal, and cultural aspects and are influenced by social evaluation. Such an integration of disciplines is unusual in the humanities, and her approach in combining methods is unique in both the Czech and international contexts.
