Since 2012, Director of the Center for Environmentally Sensitive Nanotechnologies and Biotechnologies for Cleaning Water and Soil. In 2011, he received the Ministry of Education Award for outstanding results in research, development and innovations.

The focus of his research lies mainly in material chemistry and nanotechnology, especially in the development of materials based on carbon, iron and silver for environmental, medical and industrial application. Co-investigator of a number of international research projects, co-author of over 200 papers and several patented technologies, several of which have been successfully commercialized (e.g., technology for large-volume production and stabilization of nanoiron for underground water remediation).
